Social Emotional Learning

Key to Our Mission

At P.S. 241 we are a true community and believe social-emotional support is everyone's job. Every student knows there are caring adults that they can talk to, at any point.

Additionally, students and families have access to a team of trained professionals including:

Ms. Haskins - Guidance Counselor

Dr. Manigat - School Social Worker

Ms. Stoddard - School Psychologist

Mood Meter

We encourage students to discuss their feelings and bolster their emotional intelligence and vocabulary with the Mood Meter (OPEN EXTERNAL LINK).

Four colorful spheres represent different moods: sad, happy, neutral, and angry, with text 'MOOD METER CHECK-IN'.

Sanford Harmony

We use Sanford Harmony (OPEN EXTERNAL LINK) to examine Diversity & Inclusion, Empathy & Critical Thinking, Communication, Problem Solving, and Peer Relationships.

"...Sanford Harmony is a social-emotional learning program for Pre-K-6 grade students designed to foster intergender communication and understanding, connection, and community both in and outside the classroom and develop boys and girls into compassionate and caring adults."
